Introducing the rock-driven soulful roots reggae, ska and dub band: Captain Accident and The Disasters

We’re delighted that man and his motley crew are coming back all the way from Cardiff to blow us away again with their reggae, ska and dub. It’s lovely, lilty stuff.

It’s hard to believe that it’s now ten years since they first joined up with Toots and The Maytals for a few UK tour dates. Ain’t really looked back since then, gracing the likes of Glastonbury, Wilderness, Bestival, London Barbican Theatre, Brighton Dome, Manchester Academy, Nottingham Rock City and, of course, last but least, our very own The Music Baa!

From the interesting fact file: over the years, they’ve shared the stage with Suggs (who jumped up on stage to sing with them), Steel Pulse, Aswad, The Abyssinians, Julian Marley, The Toasters and Sister Sledge… to name just a few.

We look forward to welcoming back the captain and his unmitigated disasters to Flocksteady Bleats at The Music Baa!

What the press say…

“The best in British reggae.” David Rodigan

Like sunshine pouring out of your speakers.” Punktastic

Blown away by the incredible talent on stage. Again, on a cramped Underworld stage, the five-piece absolutely killed it.” Colin’s Punk Rock World

Whether it’s a tiny venue or a huge hall, they get everyone dancing and smiling. Humble boys that knock out sounds that are unashamedly catchy every time.” Button Down Radio

Musically [the album] Bad Press transports us effortlessly way back in time nearly half a century to the high watermark of old-school roots reggae, dub and ska evoking the prophetic and soulful sounds of the likes of Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff et al, while lyrically we stay firmly in the now.” All Music Magazine

Musically Captain Accident calls down the power of bands like UB40, The Toasters, Jimmy Cliff, The Wailers, Judge Dread and Chris Murray. While predominately influenced by reggae music, fans of a more traditional ska or rocksteady sound will also find a kindred spirit with [the album] Bad Press.” Bearded Gentleman Music
