Introducing irish folksters: the labourers

New to The Music Baa, these young Irish lads, inspired by Irish folk and punk, really struck a chord with us and we’re tickled pink to be presenting them to Baalings. We just know you’re going to love them.

Formed in 2023 by Conor Bogue (banjo) and Michael Hickey (guitar), The Labourers began writing and performing across London's sessions and venues.

October 2023 saw the two mosey back home to Ireland where they enlisted Dylan O Shea (drums) and Euan Hickey (bass). Since then, the group have released numerous singles including fan favourites like Maggie, Son and Too Fast.

They’ve twice headlined The Ruby Sessions and featured in line-ups at Dublin Tradfest, The Greenfields Festival and Éalú Le Grá.

Also, as a cracking intro band, they’ve opened for the Aslan, Brogeal, The Highstool Prophets and DUG.

Don’t miss them.
