Ian Siegal * ARTIST SPOTLIGHT *

Headlining our second event of the summer, Hillbilly Hootenanny - we introduce the incredible Ian Siegel…

Ian Siegal took an unconventional route into blues music, starting as an art school dropout busking in Germany rather than following the traditional Delta-born path. His career officially kicked off in 2003 when he opened for Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, followed by a UK tour with Big Bill Morganfield, son of Muddy Waters.

His recording journey began with Hard As (1998), Yo’Edjumikashun (1999), and Standing in the Morning (2002). The breakthrough came in 2005 with Meat and Potatoes, introducing a new band and label. The momentum continued with Swagger (2007) and Brookside (2009), earning him a MOJO ‘Blues Album of the Year’ award.

In response to fan requests, Ian Siegel released the solo acoustic album The Dust (2010), showcasing his raw blues talent. His Mississippi-recorded The Skinny (2011) and The Candy Store Kid (2012) embraced the region’s iconic sound, featuring producers and musicians from the area. The latter soared to #1 on the UK blues chart and won multiple awards.

Siegal continued expanding his reach with Man and Guitar and Picnic Sessions in 2014, followed by One Night in Amsterdam (2015). His evolving sound and adventurous approach ensure that each new release remains an exciting listen for blues fans worldwide.
